Title
Jesus Condemned to Death
Description
This black and white monochromatic square composition depicts four figures. On the left side of the composition in the foreground, a bald figure is seated with his hands in his lap. This figure’s head is turned in profile as he looks toward a bearded figure standing in the right foreground. The bearded figure wears a crown of thorns and a black robe, or toga, draped over his left shoulder, revealing his bare chest and legs. His hands appear to be tied together in front of him. This figure is flanked by two figures behind him, both of whom are wearing crested helmets.
