A figure wearing a long dark gown can be seen in profile, facing toward the left in this vertical composition. He walks alongside a donkey, his right hand resting on the animal's mane. The figure holds a long staff or stick in his other hand. Abstract architectural forms with columns are visible in the background. The artist has used a palette limited to black, dark grey and off-white.
