This vertical composition shows a man seated on a chair. The figure occupies the central area of the composition. There is a small 3-legged round blue table to his left. The figure wears a blue tunic top that is cinched at the waist and knee-length pants with a section cut out to reveal part of his chest. His pants are pulled up just below the knee, exposing his white socks. His shoes are the same hue as his clothing, with white pompoms near the toes. The figure holds a white staff in his left hand. He leans with his other hand on the table next to him. Two small cups, one light blue, the other beige, are near him on the table. The background of the scene is predominantly beige, with splatterings of pink, aqua, blue and white. The artist has layered these colors in a seemingly random fashion over the outline of two trees on either side of the figure.

This work was part of an exhibition, "Look at this, and look again, and see anew." — Corita at the Catherine G. Murphy Gallery at St. Kate's in 2016.
