CSC/CST Liturgical Choir Meet Pope John Paul II
There is nothing quite like the connections and experiences that can be built with music. Several St. Kate's students were able to have an experience of a lifetime when the St Catherine/St Thomas Liturgical Choir traveled to the Vatican in 1987 for the Christmas Eve Mass.
The student choir, faculty members, and several alumnae singers were invited to perform alongside the Sistine Chapel Choir during the Christmas Eve Mass. They are believed to be the first American choir to recieve such an invitation. This trip was an exciting opprotunity for connection for students as they performed, experienced Rome, and met Pope John Paul II. One student reflected that "people from all over the world, and from all walks of life, worshipped and sang together. Everyone singing Christmas carols in their own language was really incredible."
