Title
Self Portrait
Description
Black and white intaglio portrait of a woman done at slightly three-quarters profile. The woman's head and neck are all that are visible. Her eyes appear slightly downcast and she is not smiling. Her face and neck are partially in shadow. Her nose is slightly upturned. Her hair is pulled back and the white of the print is used to highlight its color. Very little of the background is shown - just a few areas of midtone grays. Textured areas related to the intaglio process are evident throughout.
