Description
An account of the resource
This composition is divided in half vertically down the middle by the window frame that separates the horizontal lines of the wood planks on the building from the horizontal lines of the water outside the window. A woman wearing a shawl over her head is seated on a box dominates the composition. She is turned sideways so as to be able to look out the large open window. She holds the shawl closed at the neck and again around her waist. She is wearing a loose fitting jacket and a long skirt; her legs are crossed exposing her high heeled shoes. She stares out over the water into the cloud-filled horizon.
