Orange and white abstract bowl
Description
The bowl is large and made from an orange clay with a white painted on design. The design is primarily made up of several vertical lines, triangles, and leaf or flower-like shapes.
Josephine (1927-2001) and Albert Vigil (1927-2009) were married and would create work together. Josephine would make pottery which Albert would later decorate. The two started working with black-on-black pottery and later focused mainly on cream-on-red designs.
"Albert and Josephine Vigil San Ildefonso Pueblo '75" is inscribed.
