The pot is made from black clay and has a rounded body and a wide neck. The design is carved into the neck of the pot and is left matte in contrast to the glossy finish of the rest of the pot
Cristina Naranjo was the matriarch of a family of renowned Santa Clara potters. She was active from 1925 to 1980 She used traditional methods of hand coiled pottery, highly polished finishes, and carved designs.
