City Slide
Description
The work is acrylic on a square-shaped canvas. The composition is divided into 4 rows and 4 columns, creating 16 rectangles. Each rectangle has a pale peach background. Thick black lines separate and delineate the rectangles but their thicknesses vary and they slightly curvilinear. A thinner peach-colored line passes through each of the black lines. Each square in the composition, while varying in size, has a similar makeup. Within each rectangle are twelve smaller white rectangles with thin, yellow outlines. They are arrayed in a border just within the perimeter of the rectangle which encloses them and are uniformly spaced. The work has slight paint damage on the upper right rectangle.
Virginia Randolph Buiede is an artist known for her paintings, prints, and drawings. She was born in 1938 in Minneapolis, and graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from Barat College in 1960.
